The alleged theft of donations from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has sparked nationwide concern, with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) calling for strict legal action against those responsible while urging Hindus to remain united.
According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing allegations that cash, gold, jewelry, and other offerings made by devotees were misappropriated. So far, eight individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Investigators have reportedly recovered more than ₹20 lakh in cash and several gold ornaments during the ongoing investigation.
Reacting to the incident, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale expressed deep concern, stating that the alleged theft has hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees across the country. He emphasized that anyone found guilty, regardless of their position or influence, must face strict legal action.
The RSS also appealed for Hindu unity, urging people not to allow the incident to create divisions within society. The organization warned against attempts to use the controversy to spread misinformation or undermine the faith of devotees.
Meanwhile, the issue has triggered political reactions, with opposition parties demanding greater transparency in the management of temple donations. Some leaders have called for an independent or Supreme Court-monitored investigation to ensure accountability.
Authorities have assured that the investigation is being conducted thoroughly and that all evidence is being examined. Officials have stated that anyone found involved in the alleged theft will face action under the law.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no court has yet determined the guilt or innocence of the accused. Further developments are expected as the SIT continues its probe into one of the most high-profile temple donation cases in recent years.
