Centre asks Delhi-NCR states for pollution-control compliance reports

The national capital region air-quality situation has deteriorated to such an extent that the central government has required the states in Delhi NCR to provide detailed action-reports on pollution control efforts concerning stubble-burning, road-dust and waste-burning management. This measure denotes accumulation of regulatory pressure that favored the activation of a year-round rather than seasonal response strategy. The officials insisted on developing a systematic, multi-year plan for air quality management in the region.
